The safest is still to unplug your cable, but if you know how to tweak a firewall you can very tightly close any of the many openings to the outside world while still having possibilities on your local network. ![]() I'm not even talking about unwanted updates and all that hassle from both vsts, daws and yes I have access to all my connected devices on my local network (included wifi connected devices) from my offline computer, you just have to allow it on your local network while closing port 80 and 443 for internet so that it doesn't go online. Not problems with software companies knocking on my door, technical problems. I never have a problem offline, I do online, legit or not. Not only is it impossible to know exactly what type of infos is sent and where, but it creates troubles with one of my daw (samplitude), whom main process kept running in the background after I closed it (with its load in CPU and memory going on and its connection to my audio interface maintained).All that behavior stopped once I blocked my computer from the outside world and those bloody weird connections stopped.
